Bob Maes studied Applied Economics at the University of Antwerp. He joined KBC Bank in 2000, where he worked for about seven years as a fixed income strategist in the dealing room at KBC headquarters in Brussels before he moved to London for a strategic project. Since 2011, he's been working as a fixed income fund manager for KBC Asset Management in Luxembourg, where he's currently heading the award-winning Emerging Markets team.
KBC Bonds Emerging Markets invest primarily in bonds issued by debtors whose registered office or for whom the major part of their economic activities is in an emerging market such as Southeast Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe or Africa. Bonds from emerging markets are more volatile and more risky than bonds issued by developed markets and, therefore, their rating may be lower than BBB-. The sub-fund may invest up to 10% of its assets in instruments without a rating.
